Dose depends on renal function (refer to Prescribing Step 1 in Gentamicin dosing guidelines). It may be appropriate to check peak and trough levels in some patients (e.g. patients with high body weight). Aim for a peak (1 hour post-dose) >10mg/L and trough <1mg/L.
